Narrative

I have been watching this magnolia tree grow and flourish for over 30 years. It is a beautiful sight in the spring when allowed to bloom fully (sometimes the spring frosts have nipped it just prior to its blooming). It is quite lovely in the summer, too, with the green foliage. This tree has been a source of peace and comfort during a hectic day and it provides a lot of shade for the east facing windows in the summer for the laboratory that looks out upon it. I am able to open the windows during the warmer weather and the songbirds that flit around through its branches provide a welcome melody that is also comforting while I am working in the lab.
