Narrative

My favorite tree is a black ash tree, or a Fraxinus nigra. The bark of the tree looks darker than milk chocolate but lighter than Hershey's. It's very rough and crunchy when you crush it in your hands. It's a relatively tall tree considering it's 21 feet. The leaves are green, long, and slender; just like the shape of the tree itself. The tree has a very special meaning in our family because we always take pictures in front of it. The tree is located in my side yard and I look at it every day when I pull in my driveway. This tree always reminds me of summer and fun because it holds its green leaves for a long time. Whenever it rains in the fall, the leaves fall off very easily which is not fun. If they stay on for a little longer they end up changing a very pretty color of orange and red. They come out beautifully in pictures. The tree provides beauty in the spring and fall months because of the changing of the leaves and it gives us joy to look at and take pictures with. In all I think this a great tree for young and growing families because this tree will grow along with everyone else!
