Narrative

My tree is a Nyssa sylvatica, or black gum. It is located pretty much right next to my house and right in front of my neighbor’s house. The leaves are green but are beginning to change color. On the branches it has little places that looks like twigs have been pulled off. The bark is easily peeled off and its roots aren't showing. This tree has been with me my whole life; I grew up with it. It was just always cool to look at. That's one of the main reasons I like it so much, it is really nice to look at. Unfortunately, it is a little small to climb and I would probably break it if I did. But it still has been really awesome all these years. Plus the tree isn't that far from my house. So what that means is that it is also saving us money. So this benefits our neighbors, and it also benefits us! This tree does a lot for everyone. When its leaves change to red, it looks so pretty and brings joy to everyone. It also helps with storm water so flooding doesn't happen, that's also really great for everyone. It saves my neighbors money, that's really great for them. The amount of pollution it takes in for us, and the amount of energy it saves them, that's great for the whole planet. This tree helps everyone in the world.
