Narrative

My tree is a weeping willow. This tree’s scientific name is Silax babylonica. Like some trees in the spring and summer, this tree blooms little flowers too. The bark on this tree is a light brown color. They start to loose leaves in the fall, but when there are leaves on it they are long and thin. My tree’s diameter is 12.73 inches. I like this tree because you can sit under it on a hot summer day and be shaded. It is kind of like a canopy because all the leaves come out and down like one, so there is space in the center. Another reason why I picked this tree is because it was planted when I was born, so it is about 12 years old. A few years later another one was planted right beside it. At the size of the tree right now, it provides an overall benefit of about 46 dollars a year. The amount of storm water collected each year is 1,916 gallons. Some ecosystem benefits this tree provides is the storm water runs off into rivers and streams and provides healthy drinking water to our ecosystem. This tree also shades houses in the summer when it's hot so it can save energy and money.
